How to create a Knowt teacher account

Enter your name, school-issued email, birthday, select Teacher for account type, and enter your desired username.

Creating your first class
Now you’re ready to create your first class!

The first time you create a class, you’ll be asked to fill out some brief information about your school.
Third Step
Once you fill it out, it’s time to create your class. In Knowt, you can have multiple sections within the same classroom to organize better (because we all know you’re teaching more than one section of a class) and you can even customize section names!
Woohoo! Your first class is set up. In the future, creating a class will be much quicker! Refer back to this article on how to set up future classes.

Click on Invite Students. We’ll need your school’s contact so we can talk to them about protecting your students’ privacy. Here’s a step-by-step article to help you through that!

After you give us the contact, you should see a class code which you can use to start inviting your students!

Inviting students to your class
You can invite your students by following either the Invite Students Through Link or Invite Students Through Class Code sections of this article.

Setting up your classroom
Let’s get your classroom set up!
- Get familiar with your classroom dashboard.
- If you have any Quizlet sets on Quizlet, you can bring them over to Knowt in seconds using any of the methods listed in this article.
- You can also create new files, by going to your class and clicking the Add file button. Choose either Create Flashcards or Create Notes to get started.
Moving and sharing files into your class
- In order to move files from the “Other files” tab into your class, follow the steps in this article! If you are confused on why your files are not showing up in “Other files”, refer to this article!
- To manage sharing for files in your class and choose who/which sections of your class has access to certain files, follow this article.
Keeping tabs on your students!
Now that your students are in and your flashcards are set up, let’s see how they’re doing.
- Go into your classroom and switch to the Progress tab on the top left. Here you’ll be able to see detailed analytics on your students’ progress through the sets, areas they’re struggling with, etc. Refer to this article or this article for a walkthrough of the progress tab!
