How do I use the AI Summarizers?

Using the AI Summarizers

  1. Click AI Summarizers in the left sidebar (or the Upload a file card on your Home page).

  2. Choose the type at the top: PDF, Image(s), Video, PowerPoint or Live Recording.

  3. Either paste a link (YouTube, Canvas, Google Drive and more) and click Summarize, or Upload files from your computer or Drive — you can add up to 5 files at once.

  4. Under Select Output, choose Notes or Flashcards and click Confirm.

  5. Under Enter Settings, pick the Language, structure (for example Outline Format) and Depth of detail, then click Next.

  6. Kai processes the file and creates your note or set. From there you can chat with Kai, make a practice test, start a Knowt Play game, generate a podcast or call Kai.

Note: On the free student plan you get 1 AI summary per month; Ultra makes it unlimited. Free teachers can summarize files for their classes without a monthly limit.
