How can I use AI to make my flashcards?

AI makes creating flashcards easier than ever with the "Chat with Kai" feature. Try it out for yourself and see!

Using Kai in a flashcard set

  1. Create a new flashcard set or open one you're editing. The first time you use AI, click Yes, I want to use AI when prompted.

  2. Use the Kai panel on the right-hand side of the editor. Type what you want in the box at the bottom — for example "make 15 cards on the causes of World War I" — or use the shortcuts: Create more, Regenerate, Make it more detailed / more concise.

  3. Select one or more cards to have Kai regenerate just those.

  4. Kai Complete also suggests the rest of a definition as you type — press the space bar to accept a suggestion.

Tips for better flashcards

  • Be specific — tell Kai the topic, level and how many cards you want.

  • Give it context — paste in your notes or use the Sources tab so Kai works from your material.

  • Review what it makes — edit anything that doesn't match how you'll be tested.

Note: Want cards from a whole PDF, video or slide deck? Use the AI Summarizers instead — see How do I use the AI Summarizers?
