The free plan
Studying on Knowt is free, and stays free. On the free plan you can:
Create unlimited flashcard sets and notes, collaborate live, and store as much as you like.
Browse and study millions of public flashcard sets, notes and exam resources.
Use every study mode on your own sets: Learn, Practice Test, Spaced Repetition, Match and Flashcards.
Join classes and complete anything your teacher assigns — AI features on teacher-shared materials are free for students.
Where the free limits are
A few AI-powered features are limited on the free plan. When you reach a limit, Knowt shows an Upgrade to Ultra offer. You can see when your AI usage resets in Settings → Your Plan ("AI usage resets in N days").
AI Summarizers — 1 summary per month (PDF, image, video, PowerPoint or live recording).
Mock exams — 1 free full-length mock exam for AP, SAT and ACT.
Practice sessions — 5 free practice-room sessions.
Features that need Ultra show a crown icon next to them, for example on AI Summarizers and Chat in the sidebar and on the Start Practice buttons in the exam hubs.
