Enter your name, email and birthday, choose Student, and pick a username — or continue with Google or Apple.
Verify your email with the code we send you.
Join your class
If your teacher gave you a class code or link, click Classes → Join a class and enter it. Your assignments appear under the class's Assessments & Chat Tutors tab — see How to join a class and find your assignments.
Make your first flashcards or notes
Click the green + button (or a card on your Home page). You can start from scratch, import from Quizlet, or upload a PDF, slides, image or video and let Kai make notes and flashcards for you with the AI Summarizers.
Study
Open any set and pick a study mode: Learn, Practice Test, Spaced Repetition, Match, Flashcards, Call Kai or Knowt Play. Set your exam date in the options and Knowt paces you toward it.
Prep for exams
Exams & Resources has hubs for AP, SAT, ACT and PSAT with study schedules, unit guides, practice rooms and full-length mock exams.
Earn as you go
Studying earns XP, coins and badges. Keep a daily streak, level up, and spend coins in the Store on streak protection, Kai avatars, merch — or even Knowt Ultra.
Tip: The first time you use an AI feature, click Yes, I want to use AI to enable it on your account.
