Creating your first class

Now you’re ready to create your first class!

  1. Go to the "Classes" tab and click "Create or Join Class."

  2. The first time you create a class, you’ll be asked to fill out some brief information about your school for privacy purposes.

  3. From here, it’s time to create your class. On Knowt, you can create multiple sections within the same class, and you can even customize your section names, too!

  4. Woohoo! Your first class is set up. In the future, creating a class will be much quicker! Refer back to this article on how to set up future classes.

Tip: As a teacher, when you purchase Knowt Ultra, all your students will also get access to our upgraded features (including AI) for free on the files you share with them inside your class! This means your students can use unlimited AI chats, AI practice tests, and AI explanations during Learn Mode on every file you share in your class. This way, your students do not also have to have subscriptions to access our upgraded subscription benefits.

Inviting your students

  1. On your class homepage, you'll see your unique class invite link and code. Invite your students by sending them your link or clicking the code to pull up a scannable QR code.

  • You can also create new files, by going to your class and clicking the Create button.

Moving and sharing files into your class

  • You can now easily create files directly inside a class, so you no longer have to go through the extra step of moving a file into a class!

Keeping tabs on your students!

Now that you have invited your students and your class materials have been updated, you can easily track students' progress on any of your files.

  • Go into your classroom and switch to the "Course Material" tab. From here, click on any of your class files to get an in-depth breakdown of how students have interacted with the material, so you can know exactly where your students might need a bit more support.
