Teacher's Guide to Getting Started

Welcome to Knowt! We put together this one-stop article with everything you need to get started as a Teacher on Knowt.

Create your account

  1. Go to knowt.com and click Get Started.

  2. Choose Teacher as your account type and complete sign-up.

  3. Tell us what kind of educator you are on your Home page so we can suggest the right tools.

Create a class and invite students

ClassesCreate or joinCreate class. Share the class code or link from the Shared Library tab — see How to create a class and How to invite students to your class.

Build something for your class

Click the green + button. From one menu you can make Flashcards, Notes, a Chat Tutor, an Assessment, Writing Feedback, a Play game, or use 30+ AI Tools (lesson plans, rubrics, worksheets, levelled texts and more). Upload any file and Kai turns it into notes, flashcards, an assessment or a chat.

Assign and track

Assign assessments, chat tutors and writing tasks to your class with a schedule, attempts and grade visibility, then follow progress in the class Analytics tab. Kai grades assessments and drafts writing feedback for you to review.

Play live

Run any assessment or set as a Knowt Play game — students join at knowt.com/join with a 6-digit code.

Your plan

The free plan covers classes, assessments, chat tutors and Play, with a 20-file limit. Ultra adds unlimited files, Google Classroom and Canvas, private files and advanced restrictions — or ask your school about a site license. See What's included in the free plan for teachers?
