Setting class-wide study restrictions
Open your class, go to Settings, then Study Mode Restrictions.
Click Edit next to a mode: Learn, Practice Test, Spaced Repetition, Matching or Call with Kai.
Under Access, switch Allow students to use … Mode on or off.
With Ultra, you can also lock the Question Format, Length of Round, Question Types and other options so students can't change them.
Click Save settings (or Restore defaults).
Note: Turning a mode on or off is free. Locking specific settings ("Advanced Analytics" in the dialog) is part of Knowt Ultra — without it, students can change those options freely.
Restricting a single flashcard set
You can also set restrictions on one set rather than the whole class. When you create or move a flashcard set into a class, the Configure settings for each mode dialog opens automatically; you can reopen it any time from the set's page. It lists the same five modes — click one to change its Access and options for this set only, and use Try as a student to check what students will see. Set-level settings apply on top of the class defaults.
Tip: If a student says a study mode is blocked and you don't remember restricting it, check both places — the class's Study Mode Restrictions and the individual set's settings. A restriction in either one will apply.
