If you're a teacher wondering how to set restrictions on how students use each learning mode, read on! You'll have full control over which learning modes students can use (Learn, Practice Test, Spaced Repitition, or Matching), and can even control the format of the questions your students receive, the length of their practice test, and more!

Setting restrictions

  1. In your class, open the flashcard set you want to enable restrictions for.

  2. Scroll down and click on the settings icon under the first term.

  3. From this menu, you'll now be able to choose whether to turn off that mode completely for students or to just change some of the settings for that mode. You can also control whether students can change these settings themselves too. On the left side of the popup, you can toggle between different study modes.

  4. When you're done, click "Save" to apply those settings to the rest of your flashcard sets in this class.

Now, when you go back to your file you'll be able to see exactly which modes your students can access!

Tip: To add these restrictions to a class, and not to an individual file, click "Class Settings" on your class homepage and scroll down until you see the "Default restrict option selection for students" area and make your edits!

Here's what it will look like for students once you add restrictions to a learning mode:
