Why are some features disabled for me?

If you're a student who's unable to access certain features like file sharing and following friends, read on to learn why!

Student Data Protections

Due to laws about student data privacy, Knowt allows schools, organizations, and school districts to disable certain features on Knowt to protect student data. If an organization's admin has chosen to enable these protections, all students who sign up for Knowt using their school email will lose access to these features.

Specifically, students in organizations that have these protections in place will not be able to share notes & flashcards with others, nor will they be able to purchase subscriptions for themselves or have public profiles. These changes mean that students cannot follow or be followed by other users and may impact the ability to get certain badges.

Note: Please note that the Knowt Team cannot make changes to these settings, only the organization admin can do so.
