If you're a teacher wondering how to set restrictions on how students use each learning mode, read on! You'll have full control over which learning modes students can use (Learn, Practice Test, Spaced Repitition, or Matching), and can even control the format of the questions your students receive, the length of their practice test, and more!

Setting restrictions

  1. On the homepage, select the Classes tab and click on your class.

  2. Scroll down and click on the file you want to enable restrictions for.

  3. You should now see a "Restrict option selection for students" widget. Click on whichever mode you'd like to enable restrictions for.

  4. You'll now be able to choose whether to turn off that mode completely for students or to just change some of the settings for that mode. You can also control whether students can change these settings themselves too.

  5. When you're done, click "Save" or "Set as default" at the bottom of the pop-up to apply those settings to the rest of your flashcard sets in this class.

Now, when you go back to your file you'll be able to see exactly which modes your students can access!

Tip: To add these restrictions to a class, and not to an individual file, click "Class Settings" on your class homepage and scroll down until you see the "Default restrict option selection for students" area and make your edits!

Here's what it will look like for students once you add restrictions to a learning mode:
