Mastery is the score Knowt calculates to show how much a student has mastered overall within a certain set. You'll see it as Mastery on the assignment's Stats page and as Avg Score in your class's Assignments list. It shows overall mastery whichever mode filter you pick on the assignment's Stats page.

When studying a flashcard set, students will be using the various study modes (Learn, Practice Test, Matching, or Spaced Repetition), and their progress will fall into the following mastery levels: Not Started, In Progress, Almost Done, and Mastered. Note here that "Flashcard Mode" does not factor into mastery.

As they progress through the study modes and get more answers correct, their mastery score will reflect this advancement and increase. It will match their mastery levels as they answer each question, providing you with real-time metrics to analyze your class.
